Lahore: Pakistan’s leading microfinance institute Kashf Foundation and micro and digital insurance service provider MicroEnsure Pakistan have joined hands to provide innovative micro health insurance products to the borrowers of Kashf Foundation and their families.

Both organizations are working on challenging the status quo in design, delivery and service of micro insurance products and have registered some meaningful results in their respective industries over past many years. The teams have developed a unique micro health insurance package dubbed as ‘Kashf Care’ that aims to provide financial support in the event of health related perils faced by borrowers living in peri urban and rural areas and their spouses. Leveraging on Kashf’s enormous learning and hands on experience of micro insurance and MicroEnsure’s strength of coming up with simple and digital based processes, the clients will enjoy a seamless experience right from sign-up to claims.
Speaking at the occasion of agreement signing ceremony held at the Kashf Foundation headquarters in Lahore, Ms Roshaneh Zafar mentioned that Kashf Foundation believes in investing time and resources in insurance and that results in Kashf’s borrowers having more awareness and better utilization of the insurance products they are enrolled in. ‘’Client education is cornerstone of our strategy for insurance products and entire ecosystem at Kashf Foundation is built around that and everyone right from the top management to client facing staff are geared to play their part in the process’’, she added.
Mr Rehan Butt also remarked that both Kashf Foundation and MicroEnsure share common vision and that is of growing micro insurance products to the vulnerable communities of Pakistan and help them meet their health related crises in a dignified way. The partnership is a key milestone in growing insurance in country and taking microfinance insurance to the next level. He also shared MicroEnsure’s philosophy of designing products in such a way that they provide maximum benefit back to clients and be quick to make tweaks if necessary to increase utilization levels.
